sorry if i will not agree on the "rare disease" thing because the person that i always hear saying that is Atty/Dr Lambino.

We need to have an independent group of doctors who will check the validity of this claim before we can say that this is really rare and this case should better attended abroad than our country.

Now the question is why are they not talking about it anymore when they said that it was "life threatening". they only said that GMA is depressed(for sure she will be) and anorexic. if it is indeed life threatening why are they not fighting it on court? krn hinuon ngduda na apil ang senate blue ribbon committee.

I'm sorry but your losing your own argument by trying to validate it with other people's. Especially when the bias is very strong. Para siguro support sa train of thought, but nothing else. Hardly a reliable piece.

It's okay. I don't have prevalent rates (according to extrapolated data) there's probably 300 cases in the Philippines, give or take-- that's unreliable and only to paint a vague picture..According to pathophysiology (acute Hyperthyroidism) GMA definitely fits the patients of risk factors to the disease. The apparent problem with her condition is her cervical spine is, according to what I've read since she had the first operation, started to become porous and brittle. Very susceptible to fractures, and a fracture in that proximity could easily cause paralysis. That's why she had surgery three times. The procedures involved titanium implants and bone substitute to rebuild her spine. At her current stage, it isn't life threatening, but it could drastically become that if not corrected immediately, especially because of her age and gender (puts her at high risk). We're talking about the spine here, and since bone integrity is diminished because of her disease she is very susceptible to paralysis or worse. Hypothyroidism affects appetite and overall mood because it's a disease that pertains to the endocrine system, meaning there is an abnormality in her hormones.
