i dont know why they are making an issue of that mug shots. some are even giving 50K for the real mug shots. as if it would change a thing if it goes public.

No matter how expert a physician may consider himself to be, he is not expert enough to treat a patient who does not have trust and confidence in him. It's as simple as that. Dr. Olarte and the PMA cannot impose themselves on the lady.

After undergoing three major operations done by the best local surgeons, two of them back-jobs, meaning they did not do it right the first time and second time, I don't blame her if she wants to be looked into by experts from abroad. Like most medical cases, you cannot clause everybody affected with the disease into one. AFAIK, Dr. Olarte is both a doctor and a lawyer, and he does not specialize in the endocrine system, he's an orthopedic surgeon. And I want to ask if anybody besides the DOH secretary and GMA's doctors actually did the assessment before making conclusions. Was there ever a PMA representative that examined her?

the Arroyo's never said they do not have confidence in our local doctors, they said there is no doctor that could perform the medical procedure that gloria needs. these are two different things, i believe. and the latter is what the PMA is refuting.

Her camp didn't say there was an absence of endocrinologists in the country, it is an issue of her trust with the physician. She has undergone three surgeries already, two were unsuccessful. She is required a bone biopsy, which is common in The Philippines. However...

As a doctor, Olarte cannot simply dismiss the biopsy as a simple procedure without taking into consideration the possible consequences subsequent to the biopsy.

And if you're gonna question whether she did undergo the procedure, I'd like to point out that there was more than one doctor who operated on Mrs. Arroyo. On different instances. Why they would put all their credibility at stake for a "made-up" operation is something I cannot fathom. Three operations, I'm pretty sure it would be easy to debunk any allegations that it was "made up"

I don't think they're too worried about that. After all they let DOH Sec. Enrique T. Ona do an assessment of Arroyo. So why would they deny a second opinion from someone who appears more "impartial"?
