Article 9 states that "No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile." GMA's the only person who's gonna benefit from all this mess.

This right is not absolute, you know.

When the Marcoses want to return to the Philippines back in the late 80's the SC uphold the order of the executive not to allow them to return in the philippines. This is a blatant violation of the right of ferdinand marcos then, even though he is already dead the SC still upheld such order.

Yeah they probbaly want a very strong case, you know about the "beyond reasonable doubt" thing... considering that many of their witness are confessed "bayarin" who benfitted from the fraud that make them less credible.

Considering GMA has Mendoza for a lawyer they need more than year to build a strong case... LOL.. )

e violate sa Admin ang rights ni Arroyo kay wala pa silay Strong Evidence ? e defy sa nato ang TRO sa supreme court kay wala pay strong evidence ?

I thought democratic country ang Pilipinas..Mora na man dictatorial gihimo nila...Kung dili na mobalik si Arroyo dili na nato problema or wala na tay mahimo ana....Kinsa may naghimo sa Constitution mao nay pasanginli..

This is the worst thing a Filipino could do. Do you want to live all your Filipino life asking yourself if GMA indeed commit a crime against the Filipino people? We all want the truth about these allegations, that is if you are a true Filipino.

No dili si Noynoy.. Si GMA nagbuhat ana na EO still effective karon mao to gigamit ni delima, giving power to DOJ to put GMA's name on hold departure list...

The funny thing about this is the SC only made a TRO and did not really rule on the right of the executive or the basis of the DOJ's action as unconstitutional.

Very interesting diba? From my point of view.. unless alot has changed that I could be probbly wrong..

Dili ku familiar sa EO ni GMA affecting this particular issue....

But what i think will happen is that GMA can challenge the admin regarding the Constitutionality of depriving her rights.... the issue of whether it is Constitutional or not will then be explored deeper.... However, as long as there is no case filed against Arroyo, shouldn't she enjoy the rights of an ordinary citizen? I know how we want to prosecute GMA because of her anomalies, but we should not sacrifice the rule of Law and the sacredness of our Constitution... Many Law experts are scratching their heads because of the recent actions of the Admin and DOJ, leading to a possible Constitutional crisis... For liberty's sake, we cannot prevent anyone's rights just because we are still building a case against that person....
Noynoy's tuwid na daan would be undermined by stepping on the Constitution...
That's my two cents regarding the matter....

- is arroyo under arrest? no.
- is arroyo under detention? no.
- is arroyo being exiled? no.

heck, arroyo's experiencing a better life than 99% of the filipinos right now!

**edit: also, what's happening to arroyo is hardly arbitrary. you'd have to be wearing billboard-sized blinds to think that.
