Historic NCAA season opener, hoops on deck! And my Spartans will be part of it!
Carrier Classic : 11-11-11 (Veterans Day)
- The Michigan State Spartans and the North Carolina Tar Heels tip off the first college basketball telecast of the 2011-12 seasons by facing off in the Quicken Loans Carrier Classic
- Scheduled to take place on November 11, 2011, this unprecedented event will take place on the flight deck of the USS Carl Vinson in San Diego, California, marking the first-ever NCAA game to be played on an active aircraft carrier
- The country’s basketball-fan-in-chief, President Barack Obama, will be onboard for the game
- The teams will play for a 65-pound trophy, featuring a design of the Carl Vinsons conning tower and made from the same materials, created by Newport News Shipbuilding, where all 10 of the Navys Nimitz-class supercarriers were built
- The temporary arena will be constructed off site, then moved onto the flight deck, and designed to host 7,000 spectators
- A duplicate arena, which holds 3,000 fans, will be placed on the hangar bay, in the event of inclement weather
- Michigan State basketball alumnus Magic Johnson, and his former Los Angeles Lakers teammate James Worthy, who played at North Carolina, will serve as honorary captains.
Camouflage jerseys. Neither team will have player names on the back of the jerseys. Replacing the names will be "U.S.A." Read Here

^^ WOW!! Something different, great way to start the season!
Even without the NBA, at least college b-ball will always be around!!![]()
^^Yup korek sis, this is a fun time to connect more with NCAAB while the NBA season is at halt.

Update: Teams' shoot-around at the USS Carl Vinson
-Reklamo si Harrison Barnes sa sea sickness! Nalipong daw sya even though the ship is docked & too massive to be moved by miniature waves.
-Gusts of ocean breeze seems not to be a problem for Spartans Coach Tom Izzo: "My guys haven't shot real well in the exhibition season," Izzo said. "I told them to shoot the exact same way and the wind will blow it in." Hahah
-Hope the weather will cooperate. Basin maparehas atong 2008 Denver-Phoenix outdoor game sloppy kaau kay ni-tugnaw ug kalit!

Murag mao ra man ni interesting nga matchup today.. No. 2 Kentucky is playing Marist.
