SATA
hehehe..well depende.. if puno kaayo ang HD unya daghan2x siya ug fragmented files...ma IDE or SATA...dugay gyud mo defrag. =)
djereza right.it depends on how fragmented your HD is.
defrag = HD head movement (read/write)
sata/ide = BUS scheme. data transfer in and out of HD
If both drives are of the same model then it depends on how fragmented the drive is, sata doesnt provide noticable speed gain from IDE unless ran in RAID-0 mode
BRO How can we set up the RAID-0 mode? i have sata harddisk and yes its true that i didnt notice the speed gain from my IDE HD before...by the way my mobo is intel965ltckOriginally Posted by gelskie
I don't think the question is appropriate, " which is faster to defrag?? ", "SATA or IDE?"
- the higher transfer rate of the drive the faster it is.
- the fragmented the drive is, the longer the time to defrag.
why ask sata or ide, obviously sata is more efficient of transferring data (READ or WRITE) than ide coz there were lots of sata drives that has higher transfer rates than ide. That is the reason sata came out, to have a more efficient bus that can transfer datas better. If ide is the same with sata, why bother to make a sata drive?
For Raid 0, you need at least two hard drives. to discuss this, a new thread will be appropriate.
