Personally, numbness is not what i call it. It's paranoia... when you're in a phase that you have moved on and found a new object of your affection, you feel a moment of bliss but all of a sudden, you simply freeze and a nagging feeling would creep in and forewarn you of danger --- in getting too close with someone... then eventually, you clam up and start hiding in ur shell,instead.

This nagging feeling will never stop you from thinking that all relationships that you're bound to be in will soon doom to fail or worst, you won't ever feel the love you once had in the past. This would hinder you from mingling and knowing other people and you'll end up alone... Sad but there's truth in this equation.
