    Default CEBU PACIFIC DECEPTION and INEFFICIENCY


    Today, Sunday, October 30, 2011, my parents, aged 71 and 66, respectively were supposed to fly to Davao City at 8:55 in the morning via Cebu Pacific Flight No. 5J 595. Thinking of the passenger rush during All Souls’ Day, I booked their PROMO tickets online on September 9, 2011.

    At 7:30 am, my parents were already in the airport, ready for check-in, and confident that they were early enough, I left. Just as soon as I arrived, my father called me up and told me they have been refused because……. They are late for check-in time and worst of all, FLIGHT NO. 5J 595 HAS LEFT AT 8:10 AM! This was unacceptable… how did Cebu Pacific manage to let their carrier fly 40 minutes in advance? And as soon as my father told me, I was fuming mad… Cebu Pacific Flight No. 5J 595 flew because of management policy. Those who had booked early were totally disregarded. Management gave priority to those who BOUGHT TICKETS AT THEIR REGULAR RATE (or double the amount of promo tickets). Worse, an entire family was burning with rage at the airport. They booked the ticket just minutes before checking in, and they too were refused because, as management said, they were never a priority-their tickets were PROMO.

    This brings to light the unscrupulous practice of Cebu Pacific of deceiving its clients for a number of years now. The same complaint has fallen on deaf ears every time. I know my parents and the passengers that were supposed to fly at 8:55 am are just few of the thousands that have been inconvenienced by the airline.

    Now, I am forced to extend my patience because my parents need to fly, so I bought another ticket, ONLINE at that, for tomorrow, October 31 at 8:35 am. We’ve agreed to be at the airport by 6 am so there can be no excuses.

    Tomorrow, I will update this thread on whatever Cebu Pacific decides to do with my parents’ PROMO TICKET. If they will scrap my parents’ travel because, as they said, PROMO Tickets are not prioritized, then media would probably be the best medium.

    No one buys an item at a PROMO price, only to have it taken away because someone else paid for it at a higher price.

    This is deception, outright robbery and tolerance of a system that cannot justify a NO REFUND policy.

    Good luck TS. I would say it's a real challenge dealing with these airlines and their promos. I still hope this ends well though, if only for your parent's sake...

    You're right bro. I guess I'm fuming mad right now that I couldn't help posting this incident here at istorya.

    I hope some friends in media can give attention to this.

    the best that you can do brad is to be at the airport 2hours before departure, just like for an international travel, by that, ma check in gyud imo ticket bought online.. ka try nman ko ana saona, online ko ni palit, pg abot nko sa airport wala na daw available seat.. haha

    That's what we're going to do tomorrow bro, but to think nga ang eroplano gipalupad ug 8:10 am imbes 8:55 tungod kay... eng eng eng... napuno na... nganong napuno kaha? There's no other reason but gibaligya ang promo seats sa chance passenger. Plus, ni-avail pa gyud ko sa tag 100 nga seat reservation.

    HINANGOL nga sistema. Patoga-toga ug promo, unya bawion kung naay mopalit ug mas mahal. Worse, di na mabawi ang imong gibayad sa so-called PROMO.

    sakto gyud ka brad, kato na balibaran ko kay wala na daw available seat, pwerti tawn nko yaw2x didto sa airport oi.. ahak nlang.. mg wonder ka ngano napuno.. much worse, i saw someone nga gipa check in nila.. that's the time nka realize ko nga kanang mga crew dha sa airport, naa pd na sila palusot cguro.. hehe

    ako dili nman ko mo palit promo brad, proven naman na nko nga ang promo karon parehas ra man ghapon na sa dili promo, just look at the add on charges..hehe problemado pka kung PROMO imong ticket kay dili na nimo ma re-sked..

    based sa akong na experience, mka check in na ka 40 minutes before sa flight. nagdali mn ang cebupac oi. dili jud na maayo ilang gibuhat. wala baya mo ma late ky 7+ mn kaha na abot imong parents ngadto. i hope justice will be served...

    Thanks for the heads up TS. I've never had any problems in all my flights with Cebu Pac. But there's a first time for everything. I'll be flying with Cebu Pacific on Tuesday. My ticket was also bought online months ago at a promo rate. I hope this won't happen to me. *crosses fingers*

    IIRC, there was a columnist in a local paper who was ranting about Cebu Pacific's awful service years back. I think it was a female journalist with a Chinese last name. Maybe you can look her up?

    tagam nasad ko ana didto sa manila sa return flight namo to cebu. as far as i know, on peak days, dili sila maka refund sa imo promo ticket. katong ako naka ahat kug pay 7k per head para lng maka uli mi sako GF..

    pero try lng. mao to after ato nga incident nako, 2hours before jud ko ma abot. panigurado nalng daan.

    Do give us an update on this TS, this is really UNFAIR! Nagsalig ni sila nga wlay klaro ang PAL karong panahuna tingali ai. Nah, dli ko ka imagine if ako ang natunggnan aning hitabua- gubot gyud ang show- mag eksina gyud ko sa Cebu Pacific! Grrrrrrr!
