does replacing the computer power supply affect video performance?

Hi,

I'm not really super techi with this stuff.. I was playing HoN(heroes of newerth) when my computer just turned off and i couldn't turn it back on. So my 1st guess would be the power supply so what I did is that I bought 1 at interpace country mall branch. I just bought the generic brand. It says 600w ATX , my original one says BTX . I dunno if there is a difference. but then I took it home and replaced the power supply. And guess what, I was right it was the power supply. However 1st thing I did was play HoN, then i noticed that it's like freezing or how do you call it when its not that smooth anymore. I've tried several times to play but it is still the same.

Need help guys with your opinion? did i get the right powersupply or do i have to make tweeks ?

A GOOD PSU provides stable current to your parts when it needs it....bad psu's causes games to crash...systems reboot and worse,kill your system.

have your videocard checked, bsin ug himatyon na sya mao ni pid-ok to imo old na PSU,and nag kumong-kumong imo graphics ron even with a new power supply(although there are some other reason ngano mag slowdown ang PC, usually caused by overheating components).

unsa ang original sa specifications sa imo old PSU? brand?

ive learn my mistake not using good psu for my system, my motherboard got bloated capacitor on it.

ive been doing a research on what went wrong. first i have a hungry power GPU and a decent processor, all went will after 4 months of use suddenly i notice all my programs and some of my games are too slow to response so i thought in my mind that i have a bad hard drive so i went to pcx to bought a new hard drive if my drive fails i have already a backup but it getting worse my system temp is rising and again i thought it was my video card got issues so went to my friend to barrow a video card and to my surprise i heard a popping sounds not loud enough its kinda sounds like a farts, there it goes my motherboard capacitor, so again went to pcx to bought a new motherboard with the same specs, then after not long ago my motherboard died on me again. same mobo again but new psu with silverstone sticker until now my system running smooth for almost 4 years already.

lamatz mga brad. Ako gi reformat and reinstall tanan. nya ako gi update ang drivers sa video card. ok naman .. I just want to know naa bay difference nang gisulat sa PSU na ATX or BTX? by the way ni palit rko sa generic na brand coz i wasnt sure ang PSU ang problema. anyway il b replacing the PSU with a branded one. naa bay moy ika suggest nga brand? minimum watts maybe?
