it so happen that villarica is not as wise as the others, or maybe he didn't support pnoy's campaign that's why. but again, how can you be wise to deflect tax. first, you put up your own church, make your own religious cult, they're tax exempted. or make your own welfare thingy like bantay bata, children's hour kind of foundation, they're also tax exempted. there's lots of ways to evade tax. some people are just too smart that they barely get caught.

yup its a shelter but it doesnt cover a major portion of their tax responsibilities.

sayop ni Villarica, he wants to live the high profile life but not pay taxes. gihimo noon example. But I dont think he will face jail time. The gov't is starved for funds. best case scenario kay Villarica will settle all taxes required immediately but at a 50% discount. Kay kung mo abot ni sa korte, lain nalang presidente wa gihapoy padulngan, just like Lucio Tan.

if i own a big company and have a lot of employees then be prosecuted for tax evasion i will definitely file for bankruptcy and close my company. or keep it open but ill definitely downsize my work force to cope up for the loss. now, the govt have to deal with more unemployed people. that's why there's amnesty in tax evasion. you get to pay a certain percentage only of your tax instead of the whole amount coz the govt can't afford to give jobs to more unemployed people.
