Do you even know what you're talking about?

THE FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF ASTRONOMICAL EVENTS SUCCESSFULLY OBSERVED BY RODSKY AND OTHER ISTORYANS IN CEBU CITY, IN CLEAR AND FAIR WEATHER:

This list doesn't even include minor astronomical events that were observed when CA3 together with Christopher Go, held public telescope viewing events at Ayala Terraces and other venues in Cebu City.

That event occurred in 2003, and at that time I was not yet an iStorya.net member.

Nope. I was in Iligan City when this occurred and I remember observing it on that night and the day was August 27, 2003.

Mars Closest To Earth in 50,000 Years

Here's a Celestia shot of that event. It's easy to see how close it is to the earth. This particular configuration won't happen again in 50,000 years.

There was a "second closest" after that, November 1, 2005.

And it's easy to see that, due to a sort of precession, you can never have a date after 2005 (like what you claim in 2007) that will produce any "close" encounter with Mars which is similar in magnitude to the 2003 or 2005 event.

Its not as close as those two events but still close silang duha. About the date I think I am wrong about it . The correct date was december 18 2007 at 11:45 PM

After downloading celestia, learning how to use it(gisapot ko gamay), and tracking the date, This is what I got. Good thing free ra siya

I read an article that earth and mars are close to orbit every 26 months. Not always a world record close but still close.

Let's go back to the original context of your post:

Do you have a link diri sa istorya katung ang mars kay closest sa earth? I think that was sort of amazing, even closer than venus

    If your statement that reads:
I think there was an event katung pag college nako aug 27, 2007 naa gihapon event ana sa USC soccer field. It lasted for a few days until nigamay siya balik.

is totally unrelated to your first post, then your justification for posting the Dec 2007 is valid. But, if these two statements are in fact, related, then your image and post above contradict your original posts in two ways, namely:

    a) It is NOT the closest Mars approach.

    b) If we're referring to a "close" Venus to mean when Venus is at a point close to the Earth's orbit, then Venus easily beats Mars any day, because the average mean distance of Venus to the Earth is ALWAYS lesser than the average mean distance of Mars from the Earth.

a.Never had idea in the 2005 and 2003 encounters so I assume this is the closest ( Or wa lang ko naminaw sa lecture)

    b. For venus distance i mean exact distance when the time mars is close. Really havent seen venus very close, do you know the dates where it is close?

On topic: I hope when a meteor shower comes again the weather will be good.
