Issued at 11:00 a.m., Monday, 26 September 2011 "PEDRING" was upgraded to typhoon intensity as it gained more strength and threatens Isabela-Aurora Area.
Location of Center:
(as of 10:00 a.m.) 350 km East Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora
Coordinates: 15.5°N, 125.6°E
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center
Gustiness of up to 150 kph
Movement: Forecast to move West Northwest at 17 kph

Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under Public Storm Warning Signals are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves or storm surges generated by this tropical cyclone.

Estimated rainfall amount is from 15 - 25 mm per hour within the 650 km diameter of the typhoon.

Typhoon Pedring is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and will bring scattered to widespread rains over Southern Luzon and Visayas.

The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today and the hourly updates.
