@korastratz/ bro,Macabees is not in the original King James Bible. Macabees is found only in the catholic bible.
@yanong_banikanhon/ bro, to answer your question, go to:
The REAL first Pope!
to be sure read the original bible versions which only had 66 books. 39 old testamanet, 27 new testament. easy to understand versions are: New Living Translation, New American Standard Version.
Pray for understanding before reading. Remember that the bible is a spiritual book, not an intellectual book.

Sa akong tan-aw, pulos man mga straw man arguments ang sulod anang article nga imong gihatag, bro. Wala may bisag usa na lang ka point nga nag-disprove ani:
Pope Saint Linus (d. ca. 76) was, according to several early sources, Bishop of the diocese of Rome after Saint Peter.
Linus is presented by Jerome as "the first after Peter to be in charge of the Roman Church", by Eusebius, as "the first to receive the episcopate of the church at Rome, after the martyrdom of Paul and Peter"

Oooppss.....I'm sorry about that bro, I hope my posts did not offend your religion (Protestant isn't it?) in anyway.
Being a Roman Catholic I prefer to have my sources based on my religion's points of view as much as possible...This thread is about “The Roman Catholic Church – Questions” after all.
I do hope that we can have common grounds in our references and sources (if that's possible). But nonetheless we can always learn new things from each other.
Thanx for the info.....God bless
Ang pangutana, asa man gikan ang King James Bible?
Oy, kinopya lang diay na siya sa Douay-Rheims Bible ug uban mang mga previous English versions. The translators appear to have otherwise made no first-hand study of ancient manuscript sources, even those that – like the Codex Bezae – would have been readily available to them.[118] In addition to all previous English versions, including the Douay-Rheims Bible, they also consulted contemporary vernacular translations in Spanish, French, Italian and German.

Asa man pud gikan ang Latin Vulgate?
In short, kining King James bible gikan diay kini sa Latin Vulgate sa mga katoliko.
The Vulgate is a late 4th-century Latin translation of the Bible. It was largely the work of St. Jerome, who was commissioned by Pope Damasus I in 382 to make a revision of the old Latin translations. By the 13th century this revision had come to be called the versio vulgata, that is, the "commonly used translation", and ultimately it became the definitive and officially promulgated Latin version of the Bible in the Roman Catholic Church.

Bay dcuenco, asa man imong pilion sa duha?
The 71 biblical books as listed by Jerome, although not in his order, formed the standard text of the Vulgate as it became established in Italy in the 5th and 6th centuries.
