I've been reading initial reviews and getting feedback from gaming sites, and as powerful as the PS3 may seem, and even if I had the money...I would hold back for another year or two. Not until they've worked out some kinks anyway. A $599 Blu-ray drive that can play games just isn't practical right now. And the Wii is coming up. Granted, it wont be as widespread as the PS or the Xbox since they're using proprietary media for games, but it costs less and they've really come up with something innovative sa iyang controller.

Or maybe not until nana'y 'tuli' sa PS3 anyway...hehehe

and MGS4. and Devil May Cry 4. and more. But they're not actually coming out anytime soon now, are they?? I really see no point of jumping on the bandwagon as early as now. Think about it: the PS3 wont be $499/$599 forever. Better to wait it out na lang first...

PS2's still the top selling console on the market, even outselling the Xbox360 a year after its release. Dont expect PS2 game developers/publishers giving up on the system soon.

well, if the existence of BD-R (Blu-ray recordable) is any indication.. but the production costs for BD-R media and BD-ROM/RW drives are still pretty expensive. but we'll get there, eventually.

BD-R discs can be written to once, whereas BD-RE can be erased and re-recorded multiple times. As of August 2006, BD-R/RE drives up to 4x retail for about $1000 and 2X single-layer BD-R discs, with a capacity of 25 GB, can be found for $15–$20. The theoretical maximum for Blu-ray Discs is about 12x as this is the speed of rotation (10,000 rpm) that causes too much wobble for the discs to be read properly, similar to the 16x and 52x maximum speeds of DVDs and CDs.
