During our time, people took Seaman Courses because our parents cannot afford if well take Aeronautics, Medicine, Law, Nursing, Engineering,etc., its not because we belong to the lower bracket during our high school years since I for one graduated w/ honors in Elem. & H.S.
It is a given fact that we Seaman are more exposed to calculating numbers onboard especially on a chemical tanker ships coz we will be dealing w/ highly volatile substances by solid and liquid measurements, apparently, we must check and balance our finances at home too- so this does not make us a flunker in Math. hehehe
Let us also give credits to our PMMA yer graduates (Philippine Merchant Marine Academy) since no student can be accepted in the Academy if he/she belongs to below ave. IQ -
Not only Seaman profession earns big,,,,,I have friends who are Chef, Auto Mechanics, Electricians and Plumbers do also have mansions and expensive cars too -HARD WORK has made them reach to the top.
STD, Hambugero, One day millionaires etc.etc...... depende lang yan sa tao and breeding!
