The church have more or equal authority of the state during that time. That is why the separation of church and state is enacted to ban all these ubsurd killings and suffering with the inquisition, and to separate the state and nation from paganistic, mythical superstition which is the Catholic Church.

It would mean during the medieval time the catholic church are legalizing all these torture Because during that time the church can legalize what ever it wishes.

that's why i said to study the history.. when we say legality even now bsan kinsa mustorya about legality pwede jud na buhaton right?.. that's why we should not judge the past the same as we judge things right now kay ila system sa una karaan pa. in our era maybe it's wrong but in theirs it is legally acted by law both from the church and the state. take a good example sa spanish time the only way malegal ang punishment is to have the consent of the king meaning you don't have to blame it all to the church.

No. The pope only assigned people to perform inquiries about suspected heretical activities adtong panahona. Wala pa ko'y nabasahan nga ang usa ka pope mismo ang nag-instruct nga ipa-torture ang usa ka tawo. this inquisition happened AFTER the new testament dba? so you're saying that what the pope did was justifiable given that the laws may have been different at that time? but it was already in the new testament that killing is sin? did the new testament conveniently transformed into something else that condoned killings at that time then changed to what we have now? there might have been killings in old testament but it was willed by God, in the new testament howerver, Jesus said to love one another. and that killing is a sin. so the pope did not follow what the new testament teaches?
