^^ well for me wala man ko nangapply. kung unsa ako kurso pag college mako akong gitrabahoan. mao man pud ako pangandoy. ganahan gani ko kuha ug 2nd course unta.

at first nalabwan ko ako kabarkada kai nilabaw iya sweldo kai taga CC. by 5k pa.

Karon, maskin nilarga siya SG, wala gihapon kalabaw iya sweldo sa ako. Basta sakripisyo gyud ug husto dako ug grasya.

akong punto? maskin unsaon pa na ninyo ug justify na DAKO ug sweldo ang CC it actually isn't. it's an illusion brought about by their self-glorifying ads like:

"At xxxx we don't hire robots." (right, coz you hire human beings and TURN THEM into robots)
"Got english? We've opportunities." (if i've got english, i would use it to write emails to my counterparts)
"We can unleash your potential." (no you can't. answering phone calls enhances no one's potential)
"It's just another day at work for a top performer." (actually it's night. you don't work during the day. And a top performer works during the day, finishes his job by the end of the day and ACTUALLY SLEEPS AT NIGHT)

But point is, majority of CC agents are non-diploma holders or the course they graduated in doesnt give them better opportunities. That's why they chose to work in a call center.

here's one example, a friend of mine is a graduate of MASSCOM. She tried to apply for her field of expertise but haven't found a good one, she found one but the salary is way low, so she opted to try as a CC agent, and now, she's happy with her job as a CC agent.

this may sound selfish, i don't care what society is trying to portray as good or bad morals, the society's point of view can't put food in my belly. So, i'm sticking to my own set of morals in order for me to survive.
You just provided an example as to WHY CCs deteriorate our society.

The key points you just mentioned are this:
    1) majority of CC agents are non-diploma holders or the course they graduated in doesnt give them better opportunities. That's why they chose to work in a call center. (in short, di ka hulat. nagdali. walay pasensya walay kugi. it doesn't develop a very nice picture of a mature and responsible filipino)
    2) she found one but the salary is way low, so she opted to try as a CC agent, and now, she's happy with her job as a CC agent. (what did she expect? na derecho na sweldo sa manager inig sulod niya? again. walay pasensya, a typical filipino mindset that you can get everything WITHOUT TRYING. why else do you think people like to join those game shows or consistently threw their money away in lottery tickets? Because most of us think that things can be done EASY and NO EFFORT. Mao na, gitagaan na ug trabaho magpa señorita pa.)

Lastly, i don't see how societal morals play a part here in our discussion. Atong gidiscuss diri is how this indian guy is warning us about the consequences of placing our hopes and dreams over an unstable employment bubble, a gamble that his country paid dearly.

i'm not moving to have it stopped. i'm suggesting that we diversify our skills and not buy in to the illusion that CCs are the one-all-be-all solution. coz mawala ra gyud na bro. everything in the economy always tapers off. so it's best if we don't have our eggs in one basket so to speak.

you must also see the sinister underground consequences of your said growth bro. lagi daghan shops to cater. but what do they use? credit cards! guess who are notorious for delinquencies? CSAs! Remember, how the recession in the US started? Sige pa utang. walay namayad. You want that to happen here? Nithrive ang business bai naai profits but it's still a boomerang effect. Ang bank naai mga deliquencies mobalik ra pud na sa mga business owners. Mohigpit ang bank maamong ang mga biz establishments. Everyone actually loses.

Like you said, daghan mga non diploma holders. But like I said, as long as CCs exist, we are harboring individuals who don't have the educational maturity of college graduates.

Palautang baya na sila kasagaran. I have friends and relatives who work for CCs na grabe mangutang. I even have one friend who owes literally everyone she knows a total of 200k. Yes, she works for a CC.

You have to wonder WHY this specific group owe a lot of money when they are SUPPOSEDLY earning bigger? I don't have a solid explanation for that but my theory is the culture you guys speak of. Sige shopping, suyaay, palitay. Hala sige utang taman sa ginhawa para lang makamatch sa pag rampa sa office. Kinsa man gihapon madaut ana? Diba kita tanan? And I also think that it is because these people were not financially mature and responsible to begin with. Pa ingon2x pa mo na makatabang pamilya, bah, ingna nalang nagtabang puno sa ilang cabinet. Ako bro maskin mas dako2x ko sweldo my wardrobe fits into one row of 3 small cabinets of 6. the other 3 are empty. Ing-ana ka modest akong belongings.

Personally, CCs are like the "codigo" in an exam. They provide an easy way to do things but eventually leave you graduating with a lackluster education.

For me.. call center is a good short term job. For example wala pa imong opportunity nga work sa imong field settle sa ug call center. Well it depends pud ni sa course kai naa man gud walay openings or if naa gamay kaau ug sweldo such as nurse so they choose nlng ani at least naay work.

^^ it's okay for a fresh grad (i think) but if you put that job in between others and you throw your chances of getting hired.

    e.g.
working as nurse for two hospitals in the past.
    then call center.
then you apply again for a hospital.

sabit naka ana sa interview. and most of you who've been to a number of jobs know that if you don't work for your field for 6mos-1yr they consider you as "stagnant". (natayaan na daw ka)
