@ BLACKMAMBA ...
Hehehehe .... imohang gi research gyud hehe .
Just like LEADERS , they are born not made . Its just a matter of finding out that POTENTIAL and TALENT .
" A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. " - 2nd Amendment , Bill of Rights of the United States of America
Black Mamba, you actually think that NAVSOC would actually tell (via YouTube pa dyud) people what it takes to be an NSW op? There are routine "biscuits" that they hand out to the media/general public, but the actual process is "black".
The term "...born not made..." itself was created for propaganda purposes--in reality, it doesn't exist. A good analogy: I made a recipe for a delicious sauce, and I plan to use it in my restaurant. If customer asks what the ingredients are, would I give it away? Certainly not--I will simply say (so as not to offend the customer) "Oh, just the usual ingredients plus a dash of magic." But of course, no magic was ever used, but the statement was made with flair just to hide the real ingredients/process.

I just remembered operation red wing.
Prior to this incident mao to ang deadliest day for NAVSOC.
Casualty
SEAL: 11, 3 from SEAL Team 10
SOAR/Night Stalkers: 8
Only 1 survivor from SEAL Team 10
Sa katong interested how US Army train their elite forces
RIP to those who died..

The problem with "Lone Survivor" (I have a copy) is that it basically exposes a lot of the mistakes that the SEALs committed during Op Redwing--it doesn't show the SEALs in their full glory of capabilities, and the reason why they wouldn't hide this from the public eye, is that the Afghan fighters who defeated that team, have the evidence of failure (I don't know if you saw the video taken by Taliban fighters of the bodies of Mike Murphy and Danny Deitz and their equipment in YouTube). Much of the REAL work accomplished by NSW operators aren't that much publicized, because of the fact that most of it is black. Then the rest of the book is mostly about SEALs training.
If you want a book showcasing SEAL prowess, here's a good alternative:
Not a Good Day to Die: The Untold Story of Operation Anaconda
Amazon.com: Not a Good Day to Die: The Untold Story of Operation Anaconda (9780425196090): Sean Naylor: Books
The part where the SEALs participate in is short, but they do their job in the precise, surgical manner SEALs are known for.
Same with the book (not the movie, because in the movie, not a SINGLE SEAL was ever shown) by Bowden..."Black Hawk Down"...most people didn't know there were actually SEALs in Somalia at that time.
