Thought as we know it would cease after death. Thought requires both subject and object, the thinker and the thing thought of. In death, the mind (the thinker) loses access not only to information provided by the senses but also to memories as well; it would consequently be left with nothing to think about. A non-thinking thinker cannot exist.
