sir i guess u are referring to a grey unit nga brand new from online shops. as far as i know, i think grey units did not pass thru QC that's why they don't come with a warranty - the warranty card which comes w/ free service and parts. i believe that certain shops here in cebu sell the lx5 at 23k-25k. this comes with shop warranty only and no memory card or bag.

for 525 SGD. i believe the price is very fair. it's a retail unit. comes with 8gb and bag. plus u have the peace of mind to check the unit before you pay.

sir, it'd be best if u inquire yourself to protect the confidentiality between the me(buyer) and seller. it depends how u haggle and come up with a good bargain. i canvassed online shops and cebu shops as well before I bought my lx5 in SG last July. AFAIK, malls do not also sell lx5 because lx5 isn't marketed by panasonic. check the panny phil website. lx5 isn't there...

grey unit is when an item is bought outside the country where you are located and there is an official release of the same item locally. so if this was bought in singapore and not here in PI, this is a grey unit. am I right?

you could say so sir based on the definition of a grey unit. it'll become a grey unit by definition since it will be brought from SG to phil.

BUT the difference is that this unit/lx5 was bought with official international warranty. most grey units here are sold with only shop warranty and does not come with the official green international warranty card - thus, a lower price. the warranty with the lx5 i'm selling is official (parts & labor) & comes w/ freebies.

FOR example: camera A - officially sold in the phil at the same time in SG.

SG Price: Php 20k + international warranty and usually comes w/ a lot of freebies.
Official Phil Price: Php 26k - 28k + philippine official warranty.
Phil. Local Store Price: Php 23-25k + shop warranty only.
Phil. ONLINE Grey Unit Price: Php 20k + service warranty only. (the freebies that supposedly came together with the unit is sold separately...assuming the unit was bought from an HK or SG supplier)

this was how I analyzed the situation between official & grey units which led me to decide to purchase my lx5 in SG. hope this helps.

sir. i stand corrected. pero not all the time cguro sir. perhaps good sources/supplies have their units passed thru QC while other units might not have. we could never be really sure. business is business. mangita jud ang tao asa sila mka ginansya.

sir, naa daw ni warranty card and recibo. and yes, sadly until Nov 2011 ra ang warranty. PM me your offer sir para ako siya ma-ingnan. help ra man gud ko sell ani. Coping mechanism na lng ni ako kay nkapalit ko ug bnew na lx5 nya 2 days after ra ko kahibaw na forsale iyaha. :C
