What's the meaning of life? I don't know. I only know that before I was born, I wasn't here. And after I die, I won't know about it. I only have to live in the time between birth and death.

As one famous scientist puts it: to be afraid of non-existence after death, makes no more sense than be afraid of your non-existence prior to your birth. You didn't suffer from your non-existence in the 18th century, and you won't suffer from your non-existence in the 22nd century.
