While I agree that the azkals are overhyped, this statement is pure BS. If you want real sports fans to take you seriously, at least do your research before posting ignorant statements.

Do you know any other country aside from the Philippines that does not have a professional football league? FYI, we can be proud of PBA for Philippine basketball, but our neighbors dont care about basketball. All they care about is football. That is why the rest of the world goes crazy over football. It took giant football teams decades to be champions. It took the Azkals just a year to be the 2nd most improved team in the world. and considering the level of competition in football, that really says something.

Can you even compare the level of competition in football to dragon boat racing? For real sports fans, that is laughable at best. seriously. dont make yourself sound like a fool.

To make it easier to understand for the ignorant: We do not stand a chance without those Filipinos who were trained abroad. Case in point: A few months ago, the Azkals, without most of the fil-fors were thrashed by a Japanese team. A Japanese University team. twice. Even football giants naturalize players from other countries.

Read the news? PAL and Cobra energy drink sponsored their travel to Florida. I thought you were real dragon boat fans or basin bandwagoners ra mo.

And do you guys even know why our football team is nicknamed the azkals? unsa may english sa askals? diba stray dogs? Before they were managed by Dan Palami, the team would play for a measly P500 per training compared to the alleged 20k a month each dragon boat member receives. Even if they practice everyday, which is impossible, that is still far below 20k. Sometimes, the azkals werent even given any allowance by the government sporting bodies hence the nickname azkals.

OK, give an example of a national football team that does not have an official outfitter like Adidas, Nike, Umbro, etc. Any? Now for the dumb idiots who still do not get it: The outfitters bid or pay the football association of a country a huge sum so that they provide the kits to the team. mura ra gud nag advertisement gud. In the Philippine's case, Mizuno is the official outfitter. In fact, it is the only national team which Mizuno is an outfitter of. P9,000,000.00 ang worth sa ilang three year contract from 2008.

It is a sad reality nga walay jud supporta-i ang Philippine Dragon Boat Team despite sa tanang achievements nila...

Sa uban..murag unfair becuz..the Ph Azkals are getting all this support...but..let's admit it..dghan pa silang kaononon na bugas...unya cla musaler sa World Cup.

Two different sporting competitions....nahimo na nuong subject for debate...
