no grassroots program? you gotta be kidding me... let me ask you, how long have you known about the dragon warriors or when did you hear of them since na news sila kai nidaug sa international competition

dragon boat has been there for long, and the warriors came from different amateur clubs and school athletes who competed in the sport... if you dont call it grassroots then i dont know what you will

even cebu have a dragon boat team, the cebu dragons... and they are a bonfide member of the PDBF. and they the cebu dragons has been here long enough but they started out small, started out as grassroots... besides its clear man sad na you've only known them because they are making waves in the recent competition. think and think hard... they're no different from the Azkals, they have been there for quiet sometime, no one even cared. phil younghusband has been playing with the philippine team way back, but nobody cared until recently when they have been winning games internationally.

and you are saying that because most are fil-foreigns and sold to commercial themes mao nisikat ang azkals? think again, in a few weeks or months time.. all you'll see will be dragon boat commercials, starting with cobra. and what will you say next

its the mentality of filipino media, whoever is making waves especially in international arenas, they will be flocked with offers no matter how monkey-looking they are.
