Default Where and How to buy Debt.

    Hello guys,

I would just like to ask ug asa ta kapalit aning utang nga ilang giingon nga Retail Treasury Bills? or kaning Government bonds, nag google ko, kaso wala man ko nakit-an nga detalye ani gud.

Ang ako ra unta ug asa ta makapalit ani diri sa Cebu, or ug asa nga banko ang nag offer ani, I reckon naa man daw 5~9% nga interest ani, but dili pud ko sure.

Pwede mo moshare sa inyong mga nahibalo-an ani?

    Salamat daan ninyo.

For Retail Treasury Bond the minimum is 50T sa BPI, though ang required sa government is 5T minimum but I don't think any bank would bother with this amount for the same processing they have to go through. I don't know pilay minimum sa T-bill.

As to the rates as of June 2011,

    T-bill:

    2.68% 91-day
    2.44% 182-day
    3.02% 364-day

    T-bond:

    5.88% 7-year
    6.50% 10-year

The above Government Securities are only available to financial institutions, like banks, because they are sold in volumes. However, you can buy the Retail Treasury Bill and Bonds sa imong local bank with almost the same Coupon Rate. All interests are subject to 20% tax.

I have been doing a lot of reading and I've read dili pud daw maayo ang trading kay in the long run, ma offset ra kuno gihapon ang kita, I'm planning on doing averaging, kaso need ko ug balanced nga portfolio, mao nag try sa ko aning government bonds, para tingale half or 25% sa portfolio bonds, then tingale mangita ko ug blue chips nga akong i averaging pra sa other 75%, then buy and hold for a very long time ra.

Ok ba ang ako approach? What do you think?
