While it's true that we're all entitled to our respective OPINIONS and that in fact this thread/forum is dedicated to the airing of such, the problem there is that unless we can show proof that we are in fact connected with either the Tallos, the Ateneo Men's Basketball Team or any individual who has FIRSTHAND info (not a mere SPECULATOR/RUMOR-MONGER) we will only end up "twisting" the "facts" we have to fit our own line of thinking, and then hide behind the "freedom of speech" security blanket. Nya puros baya ta mga swito ug mga ngilngig, so wala gyuy magpa-lupig. Resulta kay layo na sa actual truth and topic ang mabasahan nato diri. Freedom of speech = a double-edged sword.
Talking about P-Noy/politics is different, because that topic is in fact vested with so much public interest. If anything, we are even required to be vigilant of the performance of our public officers, because among others/at the very least we are taxpayers (actually, wa koy apil because I don't pay tax yet hehe, estudyante blues pa ko). Pero ang topic kay si Mac-Mac Tallo man. We have to be more cautious with what we say, di ta angay mag-himo2x ug storya or magpa-swito2x or mag-buot2x based on secondhand info that for all we know could have been started by a party not really within proximity of any of the involved personalities (not saying that you were, I said it in general lang ba). We cannot impose on others the rationale behind our belief on why Mac-Mac's or his dad's decision to bolt was right or wrong because in the first place we don't know all the facts.
Wa na man unta tay angay storyahan kay next year pa man maka-duwa si Mac-Mac...But if this thread has to drag on, let's at least fill it with accurate info and not just pa-swito2x, blind bias and loyalty. Kana lang unta ba.
As for the shitload of perks that comes with being Atenean, no argument there. But as I had mentioned in a previous reply, I BELIEVE (IF he plays his cards right) that Mac-Mac is good enough to make it to the pros without the aid of Ateneo connections. Anyway, he doesn't need to rub elbows with Kobe to become a better ballplayer. I'd tell Mac-Mac to just stay in the gym, shoot for an extra hour, get stronger. Eventually he'll get his chance to play with/against Kobe (or rub elbows with him, if that means so much).
Soundtrack ani nga thread (or perhaps even the forum) kay "Under My Umbrella" by Incubus. Hehe
rainmaker, I concur.
