then after you have assigned an IP to that print server, now install the printer

    Connect to networked printers

    Windows XP

1.) Go to start all programs then double click Printers and Faxes.
or Go to control panel and double click Printers and Faxes.

2.) Right click the inside Printer and Faxes window and click select "Add Printer"

3.) Click next to continue installation.

4.) Select "Local printer attached to this computer"

5.) Unchecked "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer and then click next

6.) Select "Create a new port: Type of Port: and then choose Standard TCP/IP Port.

    7.) Click next to continue.

8.) Input the IP address of the print server.
For the port name add "P + the port no. where the desired printer is connected" at the end.

9.) Select the Device Port. Check the cable connection between the desired printer and print
    server.

10.) Click finish to accept configuration

11.) You may find the pre-installed drivers. If you can not locate or you have the driver already,
just click Have Disk to browse drivers.

12.) Browse or input the location for the driver. Once located click OK.

13.) Select the appropriate driver for the device and then click next.

14.) You may Keep Existing driver or Replace existing driver.
To make sure corrupted drivers are fixed just select Replace existing driver.
    Click Next

15.) If you want the printer to be the default printer then click Yes. Click next.

16.) Click "Do not share this printer. Click Next. Then click finish to accept configuration

17.) Click Yes to test printer. Click next.
