How do I install a Print Server?

this is my first time installing a print server on a basic simple office network.

i would appreciate it if you can give me a step-by-step idiot's guide on going about it.

BTW, i will be using a LinkSys print server if ever that matters.

do you have a server? if you have one, then assign an ip address for the printer from the range of IPs excluded from distribution........

configure imo IP sa print server, read the manual on how to configure this. its better not to use DHCP and manually assign the IP.

1. When adding printer sa imo pc dont use the network printer option but use local printer instead then click next.
2. It will search a printer and will find none, dont worry, this is normal.
3. On the next page, Choose create new port and choose Standard TCP/IP Port
4. On the following page when ask for Printer Name or Printer Address, type the IP of the print server, the port name doesnt matter, you can use any.
5. Thats the end of the not so easy part. After that would be a piece of cake.

We use a HP Laserjet 2430 printer in our office...

for me i used d-link print server,,dbest kaayo..2 lpt ports,n 1 usb port..
Rhee is ryt bro,,dont used network printer,,try to install it as local printer then change the port,,to the ip address of ur printer server,,
try to read the manual bro,,everything is there,,gud luck...
