On the flip side, I live in the US and I do not experience any slow downs. People who are experiencing slow downs may have something to do with their ISP.

i'm in the US too and i have a pretty decent internet connection; however, i did notice the site lagging a bit the previous days. it's A LOT better today though. i think everything is back to normal.

BeoR has already stated that the server is suffering from unusually high loads. Until this can be remedied, it will continue to happen ... but YES, we have noticed it.
