I've been lurking around here, I just remember the preamble our teacher in elementary once had us memorized. I hope this ain't an OT. This serves as my reply too. Cool guys.


Preamble of the 1987 Constitution

The Preamble reads:

“We, the sovereign Filipino people, imploring the aid of Almighty God, in order to build a just and humane society, and establish a Government that shall embody our ideals and aspirations, promote the common good, conserve and develop our patrimony, and secure to ourselves and our posterity, the blessings of independence and democracy under the rule of law and a regime of truth, justice, freedom, love, equality, and peace, do ordain and promulgate this Constitution.[1]

You know what's wrong with our constitution? Is it's preamble. This will serve as an off topic post. The constitution of the US never mentions the word God.

Why can't we try to amend this preamble? Let's take it this way?

We, the sovereign Filipino people, imploring the aid of all the capabilities and potential of all Filipinos, while rejecting useless imaginary friends, in order to build a just and humane society and establish a Government that shall embody our ideals and aspirations, promote the common good, conserve and develop our patrimony, and secure to ourselves and our posterity the benefits of independence and democracy under the rule of law and morality and a regime of truth, justice, freedom, love, equality, and peace, do ordain and promulgate this Constitution.

The phrase, imploring the aid of Almighty God, is useless and pointless.

Not everyone is an atheist like you, mark . Consider everyone else and not just your preference. I know that u conclude that changing the preamble that way will benefit in other ways, but having people accept that preamble is another battle itself.
