Hush. Maybe it depends upon the topic you were discussing and or the mood of the people who are conversing.

If both of you are acquainted with each other, a close friend maybe, I don't think there's wrong about it.

Maybe it's unnecessary if you are speaking "English" to certain stranger asking him/her to pass your fare.

If you are accustomed in conversing to someone in "English" well I don't think there's wrong about it either.
