Commonsense is reasoning power, it's not something that is acquired. I have a good friend who came from a lousy background with hardly any education and a criminal father. Through his own fortitude and without any assistance by the time he was 39 he had amassed a wealth of more than six million dollars.

common sense is inborn, innate, inherent etc
it comes from a function of your brain and how your brain processes information. Every body has common sense. The only difference is some people have higher degree of common sense. It does not mean nga kay innate na kay di na pwede iimprove.
if you have a brain then you have common sense
if you have no brain then you are dead.

i'll have both. if book smart ka, you will learn theories, calculations, etc.. while street smart will rely mostly on own abilty & adoptability (which will you will only learn through own experiences).

revisiting the principle of Tabula Rasa could be very useful in this topic..
why choose when we can have both bitaw

i totally agree with those who answered both

    3. do you think everyone really has common sense? what do you think when someone say "BRIGHT MAN UNTA KA PERO BOGO LANG" does it mean he/she's academically smart but just doesnt have common sense?

Mostly sa mga bookworms they lack the real world experience (but there's always expection to the rule). I believe the lack of real-life experience is the reason ngano mo fail sila sa ubang butang hence the term " BRIGHT MAN UNTA KA PERO BOGO LANG". they usually fail in Love life, family life, or sometimes real life in general. & the sad part is they don't want failure. Street smart man gud kay risk takers, the word "STREET" itself mohatag na sa meaning. you learn to become street smart by learning to be tough, by being adoptable to any situations. makat-on ka mo "Diskarte". example would be selling or being an agent.. of course they train you to become an ideal agent but the people who will win are those who are Ma-"Diskarte" (using common sense of course), mostly baga jud og nawng (not in a bad way). you will only learn by experience.

one of the best answers . very well said maam. indeed common sense is not an inborn thing, it is acquired through life experience.

being good in school doesn't give you assurance to land in a better job. School teaches us how to be a good employee. kanang mga dropout kay naningkamot na cla para ma buhi kay diskarte raman ang ilang ma saligan. mao nang most successful business men are not well educated by the book but by real life.

everytime you say common sense is inborn maam i dont really know where you get that idea from.
common sense is acquired through life experience or as people progress to the school of hardknocks. it comes in 2 stages, live and learn, learn and apply (oh well, this is how i define common sense).and if you can learn and apply thats when you get into trouble..oh well..whats common sense to me might not be common sense to you?
