I'm just gonna keep it brief. My AM2+ motherboard died last march that was a few weeks after my EVGA GTX 460 died. Managed to RMA both, Last month I built a new system based on the sandy bridge platform. Everything was brandnew except for the psu, hard disks, keyboard and mouse, fan controller and avr. Yesterday, I got my GTX 460 back from RMA. I tested it for a few hours, ran some benchmarks ( MSI Kombustor was one of it which I posted here ). Temps were good, 33c at the lowest for my procie, 64c at the highest on my vc. Then suddenly my pc restarted, then I got no display. I shut it down and take out the vc switched to onboard graphics and it was the same. Took out the ram, no error beeps.
*I'm 50% sure my mobo is dead, 10% of me is saying the procie, 15% its the psu while the rest is telling me its the avr ( ang cause ).
Unsa inyo opinyon ani? I have no back-up rig, and knows no one with a sandybridge platform where I can test my procie or the mobo.
*Factors to consider
Opened my OCZ ModXtream 600W, found no leaky or busted caps, no burnt ICs perfectly clean. But, I got a PSU tester, a few months ago I tested the psu, and normally the tester would beep once. Now I tested it again the beep becomes an endless hum. Also tried plugging it directly sa wall outlet, still the same annoying hum.
Opened my avr, there are burnt marks sa kilid sa transformer ( dark brownish ang color, murag sunog na papel nin-ana )
my Gigabyte G31-ES2C encountered the exact same way of death using the same avr last 2009.
This is too much. 3 ( could be more after hopefully macheck ang componments ) hardware casualties in 5 mos. I'm still a college student and I'm dead broke. I need your brilliant minds badly
