Sis,if it was stated sa seller na reservation is as good as sold, then there is nothing we can do about it.On their part, they have to make sure man pud na the buyers are not just joy reserving. That's why they do that pud...

Mao nang if online purchasing, dapat gyud ta mu read sa rules or terms sa seller.

    @TS,

Sakto ang suggestions sa above posters. Let this pass nalang, take this as a lesson and for the meantime ayaw sa pa fb ha imong cousin kay kung makabasa sya sa comments basin maka cause na niya ug emotional stress. Your cousin can't do nothing about it even if she want to file a libel suit. Under Philippine laws, there is no such thing as internet libel pa. These are what I've got after researching:

    THE ELEMENTS OF LIBEL

    1. Defamatory imputation - that lowers the esteem, honor or respect that a person is regarded
    2. Publicity - must be seen or known by a third person, other than whom the libelous statement is addressed
    3. Identification - the person libeled must be identified
    4. Malice - if there is no good intention or justified motive for the defamatory statement. Reckless disregard for the truth.

Art. 355. Libel means by writings or similar means. — A libel committed by means of writing, printing, lithography, engraving, radio, phonograph, painting, theatrical exhibition, cinematographic exhibition, or any similar means, shall be punished by prision correccional in its minimum and medium periods or a fine ranging from 200 to 6,000 pesos, or both, in addition to the civil action which may be brought by the offended party.
REVISED PENAL CODE OF THE PHILIPPINES - BOOK TWO (FULL TEXT)

Per article above, sources or media for committing libel does not include internet/forums/social networks/blogs. Though the E-Libel is still a proposed law.

Yes, she still can comment on the status updates through common friends.

OL iyang biznes & maybe worse pa iyang ma.encounter---maybe the negotiation went already to meet-ups n pissed kaayo ang seller bt wla pud cya sa lugar pra buhaton nah.....

^ Mao lage, wa sad ta kahebaw sa side sa seller. Wala ta kahebaw unsay terms nila during transaction. Maybe bug-at ang reason kay gusto man jud nya pakauwawan ang cousin ni TS.

    Thank you all.

@TwistedAngel: No it was not stated that reservation is as good as sold. But it was stated that if the item is not bought within a couple of days after reservation then buyer shall be considered a bogus buyer. Ni hangyo pa intawon akong cousin nga dili lang siya i post as bogus buyer. She really wanted to purchase the item but for reasons I will not disclose, she was unable to do so within the allotted time.

@akosabni: Worth 780 pesos ang item. Pero ang emotional distress sa akong cousin di ka bayran.

Nakasabot sad ko sa side sa seller. Pero sobra ra sad iyang gi buhat. It's not like my cousin is a criminal. I can only hope my cousin will get through this fine because she is already very emotionally fragile to begin with. Some people are just way too concerned about money they forget everything else. Maong kamong mga businessmen/woman, kung first offense pa pud, bana bana-a sad intawon ninyu.

piece of advice, if your cousin is emotionally fragile then try to keep her away from the net... daghan pwede mahitabo sa internet and there's little assurance nga maka.identify ka sa mga internet pranksters and etc.. anytime pwede ka binuangan sa internet, so at the very least be emotionally strong and ayaw jud dayun padala sa mga pwede mahitabo on the cyberspace.. daghan na internet fatalities and mostly nila kai mga napakaulawan..

and ask her to refrain from online shopping without sure assurance of purchasing one..

as of now, counseling lang jud.. inconvenient if inyu pa gukdon..

    Do you mean paid counseling?

In fairness my cousin tried to put up a brave front, but naa lang gyud koy na notice niya lately. So I asked her what's wrong and she kept telling me it's nothing and that she can handle it. I told her it's nice to have an outside perspective of things. Finally ni tug-an. I think she just needs to know someone is on her side. Her parents are autocratic so she couldn't really confide in them. On top of that she just got accepted in her first job ever, but unsaon man gipangkalat man sa seller ang balita so ulaw kaayo siya. Naluoy lang intawon ko. Hahay, world.
