Default Re: Should moderators participate in the discussion?

Science is strict. Deal with it. If you want to discuss with utmost comfort and without worry, try General Discussions. And most of your observations are somewhat exaggerated--there are people who actually post there and discuss things without worry of being given and infraction or getting banned...is it because ka-kutchaba nila ang moderator? Is it because the moderator gives them candies or is it because these people act as if they are "teacher's pets"? No, these individuals continue posting without worry or fear (or contempt), because they KNOW that what they contribute are within what is prescribed in that section. Again, minority lang man mo'g sige'g reklamo and karon you're trying to make it appear as if you're the majority. Like I said, BE the majority, and most of the things you clamor for will happen--right now powerless man mo, because gamay ra mo--I challenge you to grow, because above everything else, I do value change and growth.

And a little fail there on using the "terror professors" analogy--tell me something, who are those who keep using that term anyways? Certainly not those who actually pass the subject and move along with their lives. It's usually those who CANNOT pass the subject that just LOVE to use the term "terror"--it's their alibi at why they can't pass the course--if those professors were really terrible at their job, do you really think the school would've kept them in the teaching force in the first place? *shakes head* Their presence is valuable--they FILTER out the chaff from the grain. And that's how a topic as serious as science should be treated--no sludge, only substance.

So don't worry, once the Science section becomes useless (i.e. as you've said basin ako ra mabilin didto nga sige'g post LOL), mawala man sad na nga section--Ergo, the very fact that it hasn't been closed down means that there are actually several healthy discussions going on in the section, with the people posting knowing exactly what is required before one posts in that section.

Sa classroom setting, boss, ma-da ra nang mag-terror2x ka. Pero sa public forum? I doubt it. Hinay-hinay lang kay basin makurat lang unya ka nga ang minority nahimo na diay'ng majority.

As usual, you keep mistaking iStorya.net for a soap box in a public plaza. Read again:
Internet Privacy Laws and Private Messages

And like I said, I always welcome change and growth, bring it on. I'm quite jaded, so a little pakurat is also very welcome.

okay ra naku nga strict ang science section para pud naay section diri nga gikahadlukan. Bati pud kaau kung didto nga section dili diay factual. Unsaun nalang kung matuotuo ta didto niya di diay mao. I just hope sa science section kay naa ngadto ang health kay ang uban man gud sge lang ug OT sa fitness and health niya kabuang raba ang mga opinions. Basin diay for example itom siyag ilok nya seryoso jud siya. Nya ang uban kataw-an lang nila ang TS.

Since this is mostly about the little tussle between me and jalson_ent, I again invite the readers to check the thread and tell me where have I been impolite to him, nga mostly pa gani siya man ang impolite sa akoa.

This is the page where it all started:

    https://www.istorya.net/forums/scienc...bearing-4.html

It's clear that he seemed to have been iffed by this particular comment:

"In the time of Pythagoras, one plus one was equal to two. The answer today is still two, and will forever be two." Which has absolutely no malice if read in the proper context, because the statement is one of fact.

I suspect this is where his little "crusade" began, because it was only after that time when he started posting like this:

"Are you being funny?" with a tone as if he felt nga what he just read (my response) had a tone of malice toward him. Other remarks are as follows:

    Are you still OK?

    hay naku...nakasabot naka?

No point in arguing with a smart ass..

Again, I invite you readers to confirm if you felt there was any malice or mal-intent in my responses to Jalson's posts. If deemed by most that I did something wrong, I would gladly step down as moderator of the science section.

Why not? Just because they have a title which denotes authority doesn't mean they should stay out of regular discussions apart from forum rules and regulations and member queries.

And why should you be intimidated when you get into an argument with a moderator? There may be some who abuse their authority but most of the mods here are reasonable enough...except when a particular mod is having a bad day. lol And the mod above me isn't who I'm talking about.

Everybody hates a hyprocrite...and if we question quantum physics, strength of materials and calculus. Does it mean na we question our math basics?? ako balihon ang scenario ha. if you know 1+1=2..does that make you a rocket scientist?? wala man cguroy mu-question if you build just a payag but if we are talking about The world trade Center or a Burj Al Arab..A lot of questions arise..Mao na ako pasabot..but a hypocrite will always be a hypocrite.

Mao ni ang nahitabo sa science section....Scenario- juan-visitor and pedro-MOD

    sa Tuig 1900-

Juan- I wanna go to the moon
Pedro- that will never be possible. Are you high on drugs( warning dayun)

    Fast forward- 2011

Juan- How'd you like me now Pedro
    Pedro- Infraction for MOD disrespect...

I think you get my point...hahahahahaha....Science is not strict..people are.. because of science fictions, people explore the moon. we make bigger scopes and because Juan imagined it..some people thought that its possible..
