    Default Help: XP OS installation

Ang display sa ako PC mo close,
(and probably mo stop sad ang installation) ig abot sa
"Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration."

Previously, what happened kay ako gi reformat ang pc using XP OS. Pero diha ra kutob. Wala nako gidayon ug install ang OS kay ako unta installan og laing nga OS... And that's it.

    Thanks sa inyo matabang.

I got this from another forum regarding the said problem. Ako pa sulayan...

    THE SOLUTION:

I spent hours online looking for a fix and so many sites suggested this was a hardware problem. I was very skeptical of those suggestions.

I still don't know exactly WHAT causes the problem, but it's not hardware. It's something with Windows XP.

Here's how I got around it:

Get a copy of Linspire (Linux based operating system) off the net. Burn the ISO to CD. Boot from CD but BE SURE TO SELECT "RUN LINSPIRE FROM CD" or LINSPIRE LIVE.

Go to the Linux disk formatting utility -- I forget the name. It is listed under "Run Programs" then "Utilities".

Delete the active partition on the hard drive. You may also have to create a NTFS partition that is smaller than the hard drive using this utility. Save the changes. Close out of Linspire.

Reboot with Win XP CD and you will get past the "Setup is Inspecting . . ." screen and you can format the hard drive and install Windows. Because of the prior problem I had with installation, I chose a NTFS partition that was considerably smaller than the total size of the hard drive.

    It works fine now.
