aw tua ra...bantog ra naginit kay walay thermal paste...excited mn tingali ka assemble ana....aheheh ana jd na xa bay basta wala thermal paste...and naa pd kanang maskin naa ka thermal paste then wala nimo natarong butang ang HSF, moinit ghapon na...
in my opinion wa matarong install ang heatsink ani.... this temp is so impossible to reach when the HSF is properly touching the surface of that i7
kng maabot xa sa iya max temp mo.auto shutdown jd na xa to avoid procie dmage...ingon ana nahitabo sa ako pc ni.abot sa iya max temp nagcge og shutdown abi nako ang PSU ang guba...mao to ako gbutangan new thermal paste og akong g.tarong ang HSF niya nga mokiss jd au sa procie og dli luag...
How important is thermal paste?
Imagine a piece of sandpaper and that the tops of the grains are the only thing touching a flat surface that might be placed on top of it. If the sandpaper had to transfer heat, it could only do it through the points that were actually touching the surface on top of it (which is the procie). It would have a small surface area compared to what it could have.
This is where thermal paste comes in. The paste coats the surface so all the gaps are filed in and the entire surface transfers heat, not just the points.
A CPU or heatsink die is obviously not as rough, but it's a good illustration of what you are doing by leaving off the paste.
mao ni ako pasabot if we look closely at the surface of the sandpaper
