Poor gas consumption? Or normal to all carb engine?

Hi guys, need ko help ninyo..

i don't know if u already experienced this, but My car is running rich lately, ma notice ko minsan na amoy gasolina ung car ko while driving or naka idle.. and my car consumes more gas than normal.. ano kaya ang kailngan gawin? what could be the possible cause? I've read some articles sa google, some say that the car needs a change of oil, tune up (spark plugs), clogged air filter, 02 sensor and MAPS.. I'm ok with change oil, tune up and cleaning of air filter, but I'm not sure if the 02 sensor and MAPS is applicable for me since i'm running with a Ph12 engine, non-vtec and carb..

ideas will be appreciated. thanks.

have it check with a mechanic, bka yung carbs mo kailangan i adjust, sobra yung gas kysa hangin kaya naaamoy mo ang gas

check your oil level and oil condition pg maitim na ang sticky.. you need to change oil,
yung wear and tear nang oil yng ang reason kaya ng degrade cya and umitim dahil nasusunot. mainit kac
sa loob nang makina... pg sticky yan imagine mo sa luob nang makina kung ano ang mangyayari...

have your spark plugs check bka kailangan na yan palitan, when was the last time you replace your spark plugs?

yung sa air filter nmn... pwde lang ikaw mg tanggal mdalai lang yan... pwde mo lang yan palitan

walang O2 ma MAP Sensor yan kac walang ECU.. carbs kac ang PH12

did you notice any smoke when you are idling?or when you rev?
sa tinging mo parang mabigat cya patakbuhin?

thanks po sa very informative reply.. the last time i had it tuned up and changed oil was on December '10. I noticed a slight white smoke coming out from the muffler when I rev it to 3k-5k rpm. pero kung slight lang ung rev ko, wala naman.. pag off ung aircon, ok naman ung takbo, pero pag naka ON ung aircon, dun ko na fifeel na parang mabigat ung takbo ng car.

As i have noticed.
My carb engine really puts a lot of headache compared to my ECU driven car.

I suggest you also have your carb maintained or overhauled. there might be tiny parts there that needs replacement. If the carb is dirty or damaged then expect a very poor fuel consumption.

kung may white smoke sa higher revs mo baka kailangan nang palitan ang valve seal or kaya ang head gasket mo. pwede rin isa ito sa sanhi ng pagtaas ng consumo mo sa gasolina. pero pa.check mo muna yung carb mo kung ano talaga condition niyan.

dli na synchronize ang ya combustion so have check with a mechanic, have it tune up you have said na it smell gas so not all of sparkplug doesnt have the proper burn of fuel if not tune up it might need a semi overhaul...

salamat sa mga reply guys.. currently nasa ospital ung kotse ko ngayon.. i had my spark plug changed and the oil changed.. na notice namin na konti nlng naiwan sa engine oil ko, kumakain pla ng langis ung makina ko kaya may white smoke.. and sira ung isang spark plug ko dahil may pumapasok na oil sa isang spark plug ko..

either sira ung head gasket ko or ung valve seal..lilinisin na din ung carb ko.. chinecheck pa ngayon..

pinaayos ko na kotse ko mga istoryans.. ito ung ginawa sa kotse ko:

• clean carb
• semi(top) overhaul, change change o-rings, gaskets and cleaned the engine
• changed my fuel filter (lata na diay)

will observe the car muna especially on the gas mileage.. pero tingin ko parang ok na..
