do you think guys its okay for a 14 yr old to have all these new gadgets? we always have a deal that i dont mind him having those gadgets (i give it to him everytime he gets good grades)or giving him those gadgets cause he always maintain his grades. his studying now in siliman university and his a varsity there too. i never had any problems with him aside from his addiction to new gadgets. esp with the apple products. well i must admit i am addicted myself and i pass it on to him?

we lost our dad 3 years ago and now i am the breadwinner of the family,i am not too sure if i am doing the right thing,i just want them to have the best and make them happy which our dad used to do? and our mum doesnt seem to worry at all but is this really okay? his a very good kid and never got himself into trouble at school but i am just worried that this is somehow gonna be a problem to us one day? he doesnt even wanna sell his old gadgets he collects them!

his got the ps1,2,3, xbox,wii, 27 inch imac, 1st-3rd generation ipod, ipad1 and 2.iphone 3g,3gs and iphone 4.

he looks after his stuffs well and theyre all in prestine condition but his addiction with these gadgets are just unbelievable! to all parents out there,do you think this is okay? forgot to add, and a psp as well.

sometimes he gets very hooked up with his gadgets man gud sir.he even sometimes forget his having dinner and were all there watching,he gets carried away by his gadgets and loose manners? some of his classmates tease him of being spoiled but he isnt that spoiled,he only gets them if he gives us what we want but the problem is sometimes they loose focus on you esp.when your talking to them because they have this thing in their hands . i smashed his phone when i was there because i kept talking and i thought he was listening, he was at the lounge but couldnt hear me cause his got both ears blocked with this headsets. .

i once confiscated all of them for a month and i feel bad and i think it was very mean to do but it was only to teach him a lesson.i dont know if i can still stop him from wanting new gadgets.

With his age, it is very normal. He will grow older and learn to manage this obsession with gadgets. normal raman giud na sa mga laki na ingon ana. It doesn't make him less of a person. As long as dili siya makasakit ug tao. Well maybe he won't listen while you talk.. but he will eventually grow old.

ang manghud sa akong uyab kay 9 years old pa, addicted to cartoons.. murag mawala giud tanan tao sa world basta mag tanaw siya ug cartoons.. miski mamatay kag shinagit dha to get his attention. Unless you nudge him physically he wont notice you. If he will notice you, he will not process what you're saying..
He's suffering from Tired Child Syndrome and ADD.. always restless.. murag dli ka ginhawa basta d mag tanaw tv or duwa psp or ka ng dili na halos maka mata inig buntag kay kapoy kaau ang lawas miski taas na ang tulog.. I always advice to have intervention but lisod man kay busy man mga tao sa ila.. eventually, when he will find other things to keep him busy (although sayang dli niya mahatag tanan niyang energy in school), he will grow out of the habit. and hopefully, your brother will too.. but I hope his obsession with gadgets will remain with gadgets and not with anything disturbing

for me that's just ok. i think naa paman social life imo bro, he is a varsity player so no probs physically and socially, naa jud na siya mga friends and fans daghan. ang lisod if magkulong nalang sa house and dli na mogawas, ma ignorante na bitaw like maulaw mo face ug people dli na kamao mo interact. for as long as his grades are not dropping and he performs well sa class also sa ila varsity team then no need to worry much.

My brother started collecting gadgets as early as 4 years old. But it was only limited to PC/video game related gadgets. We just let him be because he shows that he deserves it by performing well in school. As long as your brother knows his priorities, it shouldn't be a problem.

i smashed his phone sir cause he lost focus on us as if we werent there talking,as if were not around anymore.. i know it was very mean but sometimes just just get very pissed off and upset that this gadgets could bring a big impact with their social behaviour. but yes his still in sports,he doesnt wanna give it up he loves his friends and he still likes outdoor stuffs its when he comes home lang gyod.instead of going to bed he will spare an hour or two playing either his ps3 or wii. then whole day his got this phone and psp. so you reckon this is fine just as long as he performs well in school? sometimes it makes me wonder his addiction to these gadgets make him do well in school so he can get more new gadgets? its like his doing it cause his aiming for something
