Help, My portable hd cannot be detected.

what do you mean? is that cable bundled with the portable HD? maybe that is the culprit

if your using w7, just type auto in the start menu then put a check mark on Use autoplay for all media and devices found at the upper left side.

yes, I have a bundled usb cable. I also tried using other cable but to no avail my pc wont detect my portable HD.

basin bad sector nana siya boss...

i tried my inclosure before... pag load sa computer...
didto siya ni boot sa akong inclosure pag balik nako restart...

maybe boss, dili pako ganahan mo-open ani bsn madala pa diay og laing solution without opening the case.. any idea?

@explode: yes i have tried using other usb cable, but still it cannot be detected.

My PQI 500GB portable kay naa ni nga cable included in the box as spare, wala pko katest ani pero basin mao ni iya gipangita para additional power sa drive, naa ata sa CDR King, I have a lot of USB Y cable, Smartbro KIT naa ani, mga external drive controller naa gihapon ani...

di man kailangan e plug ang hdd para maactivate ang autoplay, either vista or win7 imo gamit e type sa start menu autoplay then butangi og checkmark found sa upper left corner. I had this same issue a while back nga di madetect akong portable hdd sa front panel and back so ako g enable ang autoplay settings mao na dayon toh, nadetect na niya ang protable hdd nainstall na dayon niya ang drivers needed.

btw, natry na nimo ni siya gamit sa la.in computer? ok rah?

wala mani extra spare cable akong Seagate Expansion 500Gb, just the regular short mini usb to USB cable.

Currently using Winxp pro dri sa office, ako itry sa balay coz im using vista there.. will inform you once ako ma-try.. Both dri sa office og sa balay dili detect akong portable HD..
