A novel is a book of long narrative in literary prose. The keyword here is "fiction". With fiction, one uses imagination. With imagination, one has the absolute freedom to present to his audience whatever concept he has in mind, no matter how disharmonized it may be to reality or logical thinking.

In informal logic and rhetoric, a fallacy is usually incorrect reasoning in argumentation resulting in a misconception.

What is your point of comparison with these two words?

With the definitions I have given you, understand that the reason I have for believing that the Bible falls under the category of "novel" is because it does. A fictional novel can never be called fallacious because that, my friend, is artistic freedom.

To say that a novel should not be fallacious is like telling J. R. R. Tolkien that his epic The Lord of the Rings is STUPID because it has things that don't exist like hobbits, elves, dwarves, Nazgul and whatnot.

The only fallacy here is your stereotype of Christians. My dear friend, when I used to be agnostic for a couple of years, I was still Roman Catholic legally. I know of many other Roman Catholics whose faith are not as strong as others, yet are still good, peaceful people who are guided by morals and ethics. Being agnostic is not evil. Most of them will be willing to listen if you are good enough to argue with them.

And no, I do not read the Bible because I think it is fictitious. My main reason why I don't read it is because the Bible is not just a simple book with a single interpretation. It has been through those things mentioned earlier by some good forumers. It is dangerous to read the Bible alone, so studying it is out of the question. I'll leave that to the experts, thank you. Kung ganahan ka, then by all means do it, nganong mangamong paman kag uban?
