Experience with MSI and ATI na laptop (sa una) when I had MSI Ex400 with Mobility Radeon HD 3450:
1) Very good video card, though it heats up more. There is a slight difference with the gamma compared to nvidia.
2) MSI tends to be more of a hassle with their drivers. But I think it fares well. Battery lasted about a little less than 2 hours on average.
3) Motherboard design seems to be a lot messier back then. Not sure if they improved on it on today's generation of laptops.
4) Aesthetics is poor.
5) Dolby Digital audio, very unsatisfactory volume output. (Your Nokia smartphone's audio is more likely to have a better quality)
Experience with Acer 4730 with nvidia 9100m g:
1) Better aesthetics.
2) I love how the nvidia panels gives you more options than the ATI. Gives more possibilities with improving your performance and gives you turbo boosting and overclocking controls. I also like their gamma renders.
3) Very well-built. Had water spilled on it (over the keyboard) even though while it was running. (Some high end restaurant chick got careless). It was still running a minute later but I had to turn it off forcibly (because the keyboard failed). Then I had it disassembled (Thanks to online support and Acer fans out there) and the process was a breeze as the motherboard design was a lot better. I blow-dried it and left it to dry overnight. Early morning the next day it was good as new and the audio was better too, lol!
4) Battery was same as the above mentioned. LCD screen (it wasn't LED) turned dirty orange after 3 years of use.
5) Audio wasn't Dlby Digital, but the volume and quality was excellent.
Experience with Acer 4750g (core i5 with 2gb nvidia geforce gt 540m):
1) Better aesthetics (I picked the blue one). Sturdier feel. Battery lasts longer. Better screen light LED.
2) Hybrid tech, when using non-graphics intensive software it uses the integrated Intel GMA video card, but when using for intense 3d-rendering and gaming it uses Nvidia Geforce GT 540m.
3) Nvidia supports CUDA and has great software tools such as Physx which makes your gaming experience a lot more realistic because of better dynamic rendering on cloth behavior, particle collisions, complex wave dynamics and foliage. Only Nvidia has this technology (at the moment) and it's because of this why I prefer Nvidia anytime over ATI.
4) Dolby surround sound system sucks.
nka try nq ug MSI d kaau cya nice ang Acer xad wa pq ka try..
up na lng tani.. haha
Before you do you might want to look into MSI Gx660 it has better specs and design and is a power laptop that you can use as a desktop replacement, but power-wise it consumes a lot of energy. If you don't find yourself traveling a lot, go for MSI Gx660 (better ATI graphics card and you can play all the latest games in high settings, better than the nvidia geforce gt 540m). But if you need to go to places and have a long battery life and still want to play most games at high to medium settings, you ma want the acer 4750g and is cheaper as well.
just got the acer 4750G
I use it for Photo Editing![]()
