I do not for the life of me understand how some people can take the Bible's word for its worth, when this book is obviously written by men who had a limited scientific worldview during their time, who were pretty much ILLITERATE, and lived in a world where VIOLENCE was the norm.

Yes, I'd go as far as to say I'm probably more literate than the Bible authors. Just read Genesis for crying out loud. You can never find a book as INCOHERENT as Genesis.
