    Wrong. The thief did not atone himself because he is a sinner. It is Jesus who become a substitutionary atonement for the thief and for all of us sinners to the Father. Ang gibuhat nga repentance sa thief is not "Work" but Faith. Because work is of the flesh. Repentance is not work of the flesh, it is cessation from the flesh, because it involves humility nga moangkon ta nga makasasala ta.

    Salvation is by faith alone and not of works.

    Titus 3:5
    Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

    For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
    Not of works, lest any man should boast.

    How will you know if maayo to ilang gibuhat kung wala sila makaila sa Diyos? Our basis of "good" or "maayo" should only be from God because it is God who justifies us through HIS son Jesus by Faith alone.

    The thief's salvation is unique. By hanging on the cross pila ka oras is a form of sacrifice, that is where his flesh is working.

    Paagi sah unsa man? I said its between God and Them... The word of God in the Bible is One way - he gives the Law we follow it and spread it as it is then He judge. He did Not give that to us to become Judges ourselves.

    Salvation isnt works plus faith.
    I rather believe in the bible. Isn't it the basis of Christian faith? then why am i hearing words derived from confused non-catholic theologians or should I say Obscurantists?

    It is, FAITH plus GRACE RECEIVED (many are called but few are chosen).
    this is not the position of the bible.

    Good works are just the manifestation of you being Christ like. It is intrinsic of you as Christian. It is a result of your faith. Not a mere addend, multiplier or dividend, for that matter. God be with you!
    intrinsic as a Christian? are you saying that non-Christians are bereft of good works? where did you get this idea? from the bible? i hope not. By the way im not asking you about what faith can produce,the topic is Soteriology.

    your statement is unbiblical.

    James 2:24: "You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.
