I am for a bigger population. Our best resource and export is and always will be manpower. Too bad we have a none competitive minimum wage and overly protectionist economic and labor policies.

Hahaha. yes, infact our government is the biggest overseas recruitment agency in the philippines.

export manpower. and we call them heroes. how pathetic. they mirror our inability to provide jobs for our citizens. sigh

big population in the philippines means more mouth to feed. more unemployed. more squatters. more dependents.

Bigger population is good IF ang majority ana are well fed and well educated.
How can you produce quality workers if they are not provided with their basic needs while growing up? Most people na maka abroad as OFW are people from the provinces which is not the major problem in our population.
Those people multiplying on slum areas in the cities are the problem. And most of them end up on the streets begging for money and food and some become criminals for them to survive.

Pathetic? We see things differently and people have different views. Your views by the way suck considering how much we earn via remittances. Pray tell, how will a smaller population help make us any richer than we already are poor? I want to know how ignorant you really are, impress me.

Most of them end up begging for money? Really is it true that 51% of all people in the slums are beggars? Are you sure na walay mga trabahante ga puyo sa mga slums? LOL because ang ordinary worker can afford to live in a non slum area.

yes. i do not discount the fact that we earn big because of their remittances. but to call them heroes? heroes are those who died for our country, who devotes their time, effort with only the betterment of our nation in mind. those soldiers who fights in the field to protect us. those are heroes. we dont call heroes people who does good for the country as a side effect.

can you name a single filipino who went abroad para makatabang sa kaban ng bayan? no, infact they abhor the philippine government for leaving them no choice but to work abroad. they work abroad for the very main reason of wanting to provide a better living for their family. a hero in their family, yes. in fact a hero to his or her extended family. but to be called heroes of the philippines? pathetic. the government just want to band aid what is very obvious. to appease these OFW and like saying, thats okay, kung wa man mo naku nahatagan ug trabaho diri sa ato nasod, hero man sad mo.

how will small population help us any richer? same logic as companies who tries to stay afloat retrench their employees. less people, more savings.

Btw, the bill will not force you to have lesser children specially if you are able to provide their needs. You can plan a big family as long as you can provide for them.
With this, I don't think our "workforce for export" will deteriorate.
