    Default Failing the probationary period

For example, you're probationary period is good for 6 months and you need to pass some certain stats in order for you to become a probee. Then on your final assessment, you felt that you'll fail it. The 6 months period will soon be over but you haven't received any feedbacks yet from your TL. Then you just found out that you indeed failed and you will be discontinued on the date your contract ends. Let's say that it has been deliberated a week before your contract ends.

    1. Is it called termination?

    2. Is it okay for you to put that experience in your resume?

I've tried to apply in another company and I tried to put that experience on my resume. I passed all the exams but on my final interview, the interviewer was kinda telling me that I was terminated then I ended up failing the interview.

Need help. I don't know if I should indicate it on my resume again.

in the labor code, Article 282 stipulates that "An employer MAY terminate an employment for any of the following causes:

    a. serious misconduct or willful disobedience...
    b. gross and habitual neglect by the employee of his duties
    c. fraud or willful breach by the employee of the trust...
    d. commission of a crime or offense by the employee against the person...
    e. other causes analogous to the foregoing

it was not termination because termination could only be justified by the above-mentioned. it was called END OF CONTRACT because you failed to qualify as a regular employee in accordance with reasonable standards made known by the employer to the employee at the time wherein you were made to sign the Probationary Employment Contract.

But then, there is a very thin line between that, because per se, it could be considered as termination and some HR personnels are not very keen with their terminologies .

FOr my advice, it's OK to put it their but i have to tell you beforehand that HR personnels are very sensitive with your work experience. YOu could or could not put it there, it's your choice. Basta you should know that ur resume should suppose to sell you not discredit you.

@TS would bad college grades or end-of-contracts put you down? you've learned a lot from those experiences and there's no reason why you cannot make it next time. turn those "negatives" into assets and show it during the interview. naa ra gyud na sa pag handle nimo sa interview.

    There are other companies.

***Mostly sa mga companies sa atoa is ingana na ug style para dili sila mahinganlan nga bati tan-awn kay contractual imo workers. It's easier not to renew the contract rather than terminate ka. Also, probee naman ka during the probationary period, which is 6months. After which, you should be regular unless such companies would make a work around on such laws.

I agree with the previous remarks that it was not termination but End of Contract.

So you can put it on your resume and also indicate that the reason for leaving the previous company was "End of contract".

If they ask you to elaborate then just say that you did not meet the expectations of the job. Plus, tell them that you could have excelled if only there was support from the company - like providing training, giving feedback to your performance, etc. That way, the interviewer will not think negatively about you and you'll have a better chance of being hired.

    Thanks guys..

Di ba, your team lead should inform you at least a month before the end of you probationary period if maregular ka or not.. I was just disappointed a bit because I was informed Friday and my contract will end the coming wednesday.. Nakaprepare unta ko.. Pero it's alright.. Lisod jud mangita ug trabaho.. Kaya we should always put our best foot forward..

that depends on the practice sa company. normally performance appraisal should be done in the 5th month. the reason for your end of contract shall be supported with a performance appraisal stating that you did not meet their standards. 5th month appraisal is done para safe coz if you have rendered 6 months and 1 day with the company, you are considered a regular employee even without a regular employment contract. automatic na siya.

this can suffice all areas of query na. regarding sa last question kung ok lang ba ibutang as an experience, ky YES biya gihapon. but to be on the safe side, i wud rather NOT ky wen and if they will call ur previous employer and wud know u didnt pass ky negative effect on ur end. same na sa interview nimo kung mo ask sila Y sa probationary ra ka kutob.

para nako, wat u wont tell wont hurt but if wa ka lain experience n mao ra na imo gisaligan makapabug-at gamay imo resume' then lisod gamay ang situation. i wud rather put something sa ako resume' na concrete and positive ako matubag during the interview.

I agree.. They will surely ask why you haven't been regularized. Xempre, negative na ang effect because the interviewer will think that you might do the same thing in their end..
