installing from other pc's CDROM drive

i have a laptop but it's cdrom drive keeps ejecting
i would like to reinstall my operating system (Windows XP) but not using my laptop's cdrom drive. Instead, from a PC connected to the same router as my laptop

[LAPTOP]==============[ROUTER]==================[OTHER PC, with a CDROM Drive]

So i put my windows xp cd on the Other PC and boot from my laptop to start the installation

How to do this?

Basin naa option sa BIOS sa imo laptop bro, Boot From Network. Naa man ni nga option sa mga bag-o nga desktop motherboards.

How about installing using Network boot.

CAN'T be coz basically you need to have your LAPTOP network active before it can access shared Resources from other computer...

that cafe reinstalling OS clearly indicates that the laptop doesnt have a solid operating system which can only do network operations.

mao ni akong old school mano2x ai..... requirements, boot disk sa win98, a hard drive partition nga FAT and the cd installer....


1st is you copy the whole i386 nga folder from the cd into the FAT nga partition which is of course running under normal windows operation pa

2nd is you reboot your pc with the boot disk, then run smartdrv.exe

3rd is you go to the i386 folder nga imong gi kopyahan sa #1

4th is type winnt then press enter....

yeah dude.. its very possible!!!!.. by the way.. is the laptop's existing OS still working? if so, just access that xp cd rom from other pc and COPY or make an image of that cd to the laptop's Hard drive (a separate partition probably).. from there, you can now start reinstalling the XP by clicking setup.exe or winnt32.exe or winnt.exe (dos mode, smartdrv on) from the folder i386... .. pasensya ka na karon pa ko kita sa imo post...
