    Iraq had one of the largest armies in the world... it was defeated in 2 weeks. Firepower and strategic planning, training, alliances and technical superiority matter far more than quantity of troops. Let us also not forget nuclear arsenals.

    The quantity of the army is not so important nowadays,
    but in how destructively effective are the armaments.
    The 700 billion US budget is a number to be reckoned with.
