    Default wierd PC "power" problem

heres what happened, my Pc has been real solid good for the past 2 years and all of the sudden this happens...

before i (or most of us, we) turn on the TOWER, we switch the AVR on first right, then turn the tower on to boot to windows. In my case, it wont turn on right away, even though i can see the LED on the Mobo on. I have to wait for 3-5 minutes, then turn try to turn on again, then it will be such time that the tower will turn ON .......... for a quick fix, i try not to turn off the AVR to keep this thing running even after shutdown... any ideas ? thanks!

it could be your Power Supply....

the PSU shud stabilize the power before it can response for "ON".

try checking if your PSU is 100% working.

or else... its your motherboard switching circuit.

i had the same issue on my TASK PSU, it now even has a very sharp pitch.. but when system is on.. the sound disappears. i had to cycle the PSU power switch 2-3 times before the system powers up. Tried using orig TASK PSU that came with the casing, worked fine. am sure it has something to do with the PSU

I once experienced PSU problems when I added added a fourth hard drive unit (in addition to a DVDRW, a SCSI card, etc.) as well as "several" fans. I experienced spontaneous reboots; at times it wouldn't boot at all. I then determined that I my power requirements far exceeded what my PSU was rated for. I upgraded from 350W to a 450W PSU and that appeared to have fixed my problem. Several sites allow you to guestimate your power requirement, e.g., http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/. The usual disclaimers apply and YMMV.

it's not a PSU prob since ur windows runs fine if u don't turn off the AVR. otherwise, mag-sige na unta na ug restart or mapalong ug kalit.

the problem u have described is typical of mobos with capacitors due for replacement already. i have fixed a lot of mobos with this kind of problem.
