Red eared slider fact
- The male red eared slider has a brighter red color under its eye where their female counterpart tends to have stripes that are orange or duller.
- The male red eared slider has more prominent claws on their front feet. The female red eared slider has very small claws almost nonexistent.
- The tail of a red eared slider would be a good indicator as to if it is a male or female. The male red eared slider generally has a fairly thick tail that tends to be longer than the female red eared slider.
- The shell would be another indicator if a red eared slider is a male or female. The male red eared slider has a more concave shell whereas the female red eared slider has a more dome looking type shell.
