Need help with CSS png transparency.

can anyone point me to the nearest tutorial?. I want to use png's alphablending capabilities.. i tried to use the PNG behavior(posted somewhere in a thread). but i dont know how to use it with the background-image: tag in CSS
can anyone help? or ideas

i need too make a dropdown shadow blend with its patterned background.

this is exactly i want to learn.. http://wordpress.org/ notices its border shadows it sits in perfectly with its background pattern. the
only solution I can think of is png transparency. sooo plsss anyone gimme ideas i already tried using
filterrogidXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader in IE but im having a hard time figuring out how to make it "repeat-y"

i dont have any problem with mozilla but i must make it work on IE *sigh
