OCTOBERPETS is a yearly activity spearheaded by the Cebu Companion Animal Practitioners Association, a group comprised of licensed veterinarians specializing in small or companion animals, and held to celebrate World Animal Day.
OCTOBERPETS is fashioned as a day to enjoy with family, pets and barkadas. It will feature a free clinic to be manned by licensed veterinarians, exhibits by different clubs and organizations, pet demonstrations, blessing of pets, games, lectures and lots and lots of giveaways.
Activities:
Exhibits and Booths by K9 Care Dogsport, Crocolandia Foundation, Island Rescue Organization, Cebu Arachnida Society, Cebu South Dog Club, Hedgehog Lovers Club, Cavy Enthusiasts of the South, Royal Canin, Hills Science Diet, Plaridel, Bayer, Purrfect Treats, Cebu Rottweiler Verein, Pawpals, Woof Chunx and My Pet Station.
Photo Booth- so get those matching pet-mama/papa outfits ready and smile for the camera!
Free Clinic- Health Checks, Rabies Vaccinations, Deworming, Consultations. Grab this opportunity to consult with the top small animal practitioners in Cebu for free.
Dogsport Demo- Another riveting demonstration of tricks and obedience training by Ryan Ong, Jute, Bing, Jun and Dr. Monico of K9 Care Dogsport and 6 of their smartest dogs.
Games and Giveaways- Get your mojo going! Be prepared to dance, run and play games with your pets and win one, two or more of many many lovely giveaways.
Food and Drinks- this is a whole day family affair. Food and drinks booths will be available so no one needs to go home for lunch. FOOD AND DRINKS NOT FREE THOUGH, sorry. If you want to bring a picnic basket and a blanket, all the more better.
Pet Blessing- this is always scheduled between 10 am to 10:30 am to fit into the Sunday schedule of our parish priest. So if you want your pets to receive the Lord's Blessings, come early.
Lectures- mini lectures will be held by event sponsors during the day. Check the lecture schedule at the event site.
WARNINGS AND SAFETY CONCERNS: Due to the large number of dogs and people who come to Octoberpets, please comply with the following:
1. ALL DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH. Your dog may be friendly and sociable but others may not be. Noise and crowds can easily agitate well-behaved dogs. To avoid accidents, keep all dogs on a leash.
2. BRING WATER. The heat and excitement can cause your dog's body temperature to rise. To avoid heat stroke, bring cold water and allow your dogs to drink frequently.
